Nairobi National MuseumNairobi National Museum is located at the Museum Hill, approximately 10 minutes drive from the Nairobi city centre accessible both by public and private transport. Nairobi National Museum is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in city centre. First built in 1929, over 3 years from 2005 the museum was renovated and expanded and reopened on 31st March 2008. 

The renovation turned Nairobi National Museum into a modern centre dotted with a feeling of heritage, culture, arts and crafts. It now houses a world class Coffee Lounge, Gift and Book shops and the galleries set up is simply incredible.

 National Museums of Kenya celebrates collections of Kenya's History, Nature, Culture and Contemporary Art. It aims  to interpret Kenya's rich heritage and offers a one stop for visitors to sample the country's rich heritage both for education and leisure. NNM exhibits fossils excavated within Rift valleys, which is believed to be the origin of human kind. The Kenya National Museum also displays a variety of stuffed bird species and displays diverse Kenyan culture.

 

In addition to the museum, visitors are treated to a variety of shopping and dinning facilities, as well as botanical gardens that offer a serene environment. The museum is open on all 356 days throughout the year from 08:30hrs -17:30h.
